What? A new pattern?!
Yes!!!
At long last, I've gotten off my duff, and finished the publication process for one of the many designs I've had in my backlog for a while. It has been about four years since my last pattern launch, so this is kind of a big, exciting deal for me to finally do it again.
Introducing the Hazel Tam. I designed this as a birthday present for a family friend who originates from the Isle of Wight in England. Accordingly, there's a bit of Isle of Wight evoked in the imagery of the tam: the centre of the "wheel" is a stylized version of the official flower, the pyramidal orchid.
This tam uses seven (count 'em!) colours, and as you only need between about 12 to 46 yards of any one of those colours, this pattern is a marvellous way to get rid of all those extra leftover bits of sock yarn which so many of us have floating around our stashes.
Thanks go out to Nicky Jensen, my eagle-eyed tech editor and accessibility checker, and my eldest daughter Alia, who consented (once again) to be my model and really went all-out with achieving the 1940s look I was going for in the photo shoot. (Also, a shout-out to my husband, who allowed us to borrow his tweed blazer to use as her "jacket".)
Purchasing the pattern gets you both a "mainstream" and low vision/screenreader version. More information about it, including the purchase link, is available on the Hazel Tam product page!
(And if you're wondering, I'm already working on getting more patterns released, so hopefully over the next number of months, you'll see even more.)
